The FAI will be running a full time education course in conjunction with Dublin City Council, Whitehall College and DCU in the Community for 30 adults to embark on gaining the following:-
FETAC Level 4/5 Sport and Recreation Award
ITEC Fitness Instructors Award
FAI Coaching courses:-
Kickstart 1
Kickstart 2
Youth Certificate / National ‘C’ Licence
FAI Strength and Conditioning
FAI 4v4 SSG workshop
FAI 7v7 SSG workshop
FAI Goalkeepers Intro
FAI Match Analysis Module
FAI Disability Coaching Course
FAI Child Protection Course
Referees Course
Along with these, the students will be gaining coaching experience with local schools, clubs and local community groups.
Past students that have completed the course have gained employment in the FAI, Dublin Airport, Soccer Coaching in USA (6/9 month contracts), local community groups such as BRYR.
Past students have also gone onto 3rd level education to Carlow IT (Bsc Sport Science and Football), Limerick IT (Strength & Conditioning), DCU (Personal Training), Coaliste Ide & Blanch IT (Sports Management).
2011-2012 course saw 19 out of 25 students gain employment within a few months of completing the course.
2012-2013 course saw approx 60% of students gain employment within a few months of completing the course.
2013-2014 course saw all students gaining employment within 6 months of completing the course.
2014-2015 course had a record of 72% of students pass the FAI Youth Cert Coaching course and the majority are now coaching every week with local clubs.
2015-2016 course saw approx 75% students gaining employment during and shortly after completing the course.
We will be looking to start the course 12th September 2016 and will be conducting interviews Week commencing Monday 15th August 2016.
Students must be 18+ and be eligible financially to embark on a full time course for the full academic year. They must be fully committed to attending the full week and year.
They must have an interest in coaching, working in football, and community work.
