General Conduct on match day
In MDL for all age groups 1 coach per team allowed behind side-line and 2nd coach outside fence for substitutes and oversees parents/supporters.
In St. Pat’s School for Age Group 11 Boys coaches and substitutes are allowed on pitch area and parents/supporters remain outside fence.
Team coaches should rotate players to experience different positions on pitch.
Players must have freedom to express themselves and once game begins the coach should just let them play and not “direct” the play.
At start and end of every game team coaches and players will line up and shake hands with each other.
Give the children freedom to have fun and enjoy playing soccer.
Let the kids make their own decisions on the field, and encourage them to communicate with each other. Let the kids decide who will take the free kick, kick in, penalty etc.
Let the players have the chance to make their own split-second decisions on the pitch and learn by them whether the decision was successful or not.
No Shouting Instructions.
No Shouting at the Facilitator/Referee.
No Shouting at the opposition.
Positive encouragement only from side lines for both sets of players.
NO SMOKING allowed in the environs of the pitch while games are on.
Coaches/Parents working positively together
Do not instil “a win at all costs” attitude in the players. This is non-competitive football not the Champions league.
Be positive or be quiet, negative comments are counter-productive.
Encourage participation and fun.
