Enfield Under 15s The Season so Far

Enfield Celtic u15 season 2013/14 Premier League has started in the best possible fashion, with 9 wins and 1 draw achieved in the opening 10 games before Christmas.
We are currently top of the League although we are not yet halfway through what is looking like a very long season.
At the beginning of August, we have a good pre-season workout with friendly matches played against Kinnegad and Kilcock Celtic.
We also signed 3 excellent players from Longwood; namely Gavin Griffith, Niall Mulvey and David McQuaid. The new lads slotted in very well into our set up
And have given us much needed competition for places following the loss of 2 players at the end of last season. Our Captain Oje Oifoh is a true leader and an inspiration to all our players
Squad; Connor Heffernan, Colm Flynn, Nathan Kearney, Sean Rafferty, Niall Mulvey, Bernard McInerney, David Maher Oje Oifoh(Capt),Luke McNally, Dmitry Simonovich
Jack McNally, David McQuaid, Aaron McCarthy, Peter Adio, Michael Kavanagh, Daniel Devine and Gavin Griffith.
We began the season well and achieved valuable away wins at Kells Blackwater, Parkvilla B, Newtown , and Bailleboro. We also won some very competitive home games against
Teams such as Athboy , Virginia , Johnstown , Oldcastle A and Oldcastle B. the only points we dropped were against Kingscourt Harps, when we drew 2/2 at home.
We have scored over 40 goals already, conceding only 14 following the above games. The goals are being scored all over the pitch with some excellent strikes from Gavin Griffith, Oje Oifoh and Dmitry Simanovich
Our training sessions are very well attended and the lads are expertly coached by Cathal (Ice) Finnegan, who is well assisted by Joe Maher and Mark Mulvey.
Most importantly the sessions are great fun, full of good Humour and as I said previously, the dedication from all concerned is simply first class.
This year is also very special for the u15 team as we have 4 players Luke McNally, Oje Oifoh Connor Heffernan and Sean Rafferty training and representing us in the emerging talent NECSL u15 squad
Luke McNally also represents our Club in the u15 North Leinster Regional Squad, which train in Oriel Park Dundalk throughout the winter. Well done to the lads and keep up the good work!
So we approach the New Year in a good position knowing the remainder of the season will be most challenging. We have won nothing yet! We are also aware that if we show the same level of commitment hard work and “never say die” attitude
We will be in the shake up come the season end. It is fantastic for a young club such as Enfield Celtic in the corner of Co. Meath to be holding our own against the bigger Clubs and towns in both Meath and Cavan.
On a local front we have made considerable progress in our quest to improve and have first class facilities. Our pitch is under renovation, and tremendous local support from Enfield and the surrounding villages
Will see us achieve our aim. We have teams from the Academy up to the U15’s, a Senior Team, and an over 35’s team along with over 200 Club Members. I would like to say a big Thank You to all who have supported us and our Chairperson Anne Maher who works tirelessly
If you have a story to share with us about your club please send it on to us we love to hear how you are doing
