U13 (2003) 9 ASIDE CUP TOURNAMENT, SUNDAY August 9^th 2015.

OUR GOAL FOR THE DAY

Portlaoise AFC wish to create a safe and fun tournament for all teams involved. We will host 16 teams. Group Winners and Runners up go forward for the Cup while third/fourth place teams will go into the Shield. Trophy’s for winning team (12), with medals for cup runners up and shield winners/2nd place.

Portlaoise AFC may take photographs or videos during the tournament for use on our website, Facebook page and possibly local press. If it is a big issue for any individuals or clubs let us know, otherwise we will assume everyone is ok.

COST AND PAYMENT

The cost of entry is €100 per team of 12 players.

All postal orders and cheques can be made out to Portlaoise AFC and sent to our tournament secretary Maura Brophy, 10 St. Brigids Place Portlaoise. 086 8613833

Once 16 teams have returned their registration form and paid the entry fee, the tournament draw will take place and an email with the exact schedule for games and groups will be sent out at least one week in advance.

WHAT PLAYERS NEED TO BRING ON THE DAY?

Grass boots and shin guards must be worn. We will play on grass.

Each player should bring their own water bottle, snack and lunch.

We would advise each player to bring wet gear and warm clothes for in-between games.

Any sort of aggressive behaviour will not be tolerated from children, parents or coaches and may result in disqualification from the competition.

There will be an official, qualified referee. The referee’s decision is final.

LOCATION & PARKING

The tournament will be held at Portlaoise AFC’s home ground Rossleighn Park, Mountmellick Road, Portlaoise.

Competition Rules

Each Squad can enter a maximum of 12 players.

Each Squad must have a minimum of 9 players

Each Team fields 1 x goal keeper and 8 outfield players. Subs can roll on and roll off once the referee is signified.

Normal FAI/FIFA 9 aside rules apply.

Competition Format

Group Winners and Runners up go forward into the Cup competition.

3rd and 4^th placed teams go into the shield competition.

The cup and Shield competitions, post group stages will be knockout as pre-defined by the tournament draw, knock games will be 20 minutes a match with penalties deciding the outcome should teams be level at full time.

Each team is guaranteed 4 games

Each game is 20 minutes (2×10 minute half)

If you can remind all your parents/supporters that this will be a fun & friendly event for the kids enjoyment and obviously no alcohol is permitted on the grounds. Catering facilities and a shop will be available on site during the tournament hours.
