Below is an outline of how the HSE NECSL Shield will run for 2015.

12 Premier Shield

2 groups of 4 teams

Play each other home and away

Winners of each group progress to final

Goal difference to separate teams if level on points

Top 4 teams in Premier Play each other in GA

Fifth in Premier plus Top 3 in D1 play in GB

12 Major Shield

2 groups of 7 teams

Play each other once

Total of 6 games

Winners of each group progress to final

Goal difference to separate teams if level on points

Bottom 3 in Premier, fourth in D1 and top 3 in D2 play each other in GA

Bottom 3 in D1 plus remaining 4 teams in D2 play each other in GB

13 Premier Shield

Standard knockout competition involving 8 teams

Top 5 teams in Premier plus Top 3 in D1 will make up Premier shield Q/Fs

13 Major Shield

Standard knockout competition involving 13 teams

Bottom 4 in Premier plus remaining 9 teams in D1 will make up R2

5 games and 3 byes = Round 2

14 Premier Shield

Standard knockout competition involving 8 teams

Top 5 teams in Premier plus Top 3 in D1 will make up Premier shield Q/Fs

14 Major Shield

Standard knockout competition involving 13 teams

Bottom 4 in Premier plus remaining 10 teams in D1 will make up R2

6 games and 2 byes = Round 2

14 Girls Premier Shield

6 teams compete in two groups

GA = teams placed 1^st 2^nd and 3^rd in Premier div.

Play each other home and away = 4 games per team

Top team progress to final

Goal difference to separate teams if level on points

GB = teams placed 4^th 5^th and 6^th in Premier

Play each other home and away = 4 games per team

Top team progress to final

15 Premier Shield

Standard knockout competition involving 7 teams

Top 7 teams in Premier in Q/F = 3 games and 1 team gets Bye

15 Major Shield

Remaining 4 teams in Premier

Play home and away

Top two progress to final

Goal difference to separate teams if level on points

16 Premier Shield

Standard knockout competition involving 7 teams

Top 7 teams in Premier in Q/F = 3 games and 1 team gets Bye

16 Major Shield

Remaining 4 teams in Premier compete in Major shield S/F’s

16 Girls Premier Shield

6 teams compete in two groups
